Budget Tip #2: Go Old School with Lunch

The first half of a business day is filled with doing two things: 1. Getting your email inbox to zero. 2. Deciding where you’re going to lunch.

Why not use that time to actually, well, WORK and maybe save some money at the same time?

Making a fresh lunch for yourself the night before and bringing it to work will save you time and money. But why not partner up with your fellow co-workers to do the same thing?

Just like starting to run from being a couch potato, start one step at a time. Start with one day a week. You can ease into it and add more.

Here’s some other ideas to help…
1. Make themed days or special ingredient days. Have challenges with each other to make it fun for everyone.
2. Make extra dinner and pack leftovers for the next day. Goes back to tip #1.
2. Keep granola bars, fruits, chips and other snacks in your desk in case you forget lunch or just lazy to tote a hot lunch.
3. PB&J is always good and always easy in case of emergency.
