Ninth Circuit Court of Appeal

A federal appellate court that covers several western states, including California; the Ninth Circuit is one of thirteen circuits and the largest in the United States; contains court calendar, opinions and rules.

Ninth Circuit Bankruptcy Appellate Panel

If a party to a bankruptcy wishes to appeal a decision by the bankruptcy judge, the party can appeal to either BAP or the District Court. The Ninth Circuit is one of five circuits that utilizes a BAP. The site has calendar information, opinions and procedures.

United States District Court, Northern District of California

The bankruptcy courts in San Jose, Oakland, San Francisco and Santa Rosa are a part of the District Court, Northern District of California. A party appealing a ruling by a bankruptcy court can appeal to the District Court in lieu of the BAP. Currently, 60% of the appeals go the BAP, and 40% go to the District Court. This site contains calendar information, opinons, rules and procedures.
